Sustainability
We track energy, waste and recycling every month against a measured baseline, and we set targets we can be held to. This page publishes the policies and the numbers behind them.
Measured against a 2024 baseline. These are operational, production-normalized targets set from our own metered consumption data — not purchased offsets.
Through machine utilization tracking, higher-efficiency equipment and operator energy training.
At least half of our electricity from renewable supply contracts or on-site solar generation.
Through extended coolant life cycles and advanced filtration.
Columbia City, Indiana. Electricity figures are taken from twelve monthly utility statements rather than estimates. Emissions are calculated from consumption using US EPA emission factors.
| Measure | 2025 | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Electricity purchased | 8,938,783 kWh | Billed utility statements, both site meters |
| On-site solar generated | 925,852 kWh | Utility-metered generation, 10.4% of electricity purchased |
| Scope 1 emissions | 478 tCO2e | Fuel consumption × US EPA emission factors |
| Scope 2 emissions (market-based) | 3,092 tCO2e | Net of on-site solar, for which we retain the renewable energy certificates |
| Scope 2 emissions (location-based) | 3,449 tCO2e | Grid average emission factor, before any renewable deduction |
On-site solar generation is metered by our electricity supplier and Impact CNC retains the associated renewable energy certificates. We report both figures: the market-based number reflects that generation, and the location-based number is shown alongside it for comparability.
